Shamanic Trance DMT and You

Shamanic Trance DMT and You

Shamanic Trance a definition

There is a lot of information on different ways to obtain a shamanic trance, and yet little discussion of exactly what it is. It can be defined as that state in which one obtains an altered consciousness that allows one to see, feel, hear, and/or experience another reality. In this state, the individual is able to visit alternate planes of reality, contact entities that can be defined as spirits, or guides, obtains information to assist themselves or others, retrieves souls, and make adjustments to their own reality and others.

In other words it is the process of reality shifting used by an individual who practices shamanic arts.

What about Me?

While this tool is identified with the Shaman or Shamanic Practitioner, every individual has the potential and the ability to utilize this tool to assist in their own healing process. During the course The Warrior Within I assist individuals to use this process themselves to help become more in tune with their own spirit, conscious, and subconscious reality. Some literature speaks of this as a gift that is granted to specific individuals. In my experience, anyone can achieve this state.

According to Rick Strassman in his book DMT: The Spirit Molecule the pineal gland produces melatonin, has high concentrations of serotonin, and the gland can convert serotonin into tryptamine. The unique enzymes that produce di-methyl-tryptamine, (DMT,) are also present in the pineal gland in very high concentrations. Hence, the pineal gland is indeed as he calls it the Psychedelic Pineal. The gland itself is located in the Thalamus which is located in the brain at the base of the cerebral cortex.

Therefore, since this is a naturally occurring substance in the brain, then learning to activate it’s production is something that can be learned.

This is the compound that assists humans to cross into the other non physical realms.

How to Encourage the Release of DMT

As I stated above, releasing DMT into the body can be learned. It is this compound that is utilized to facilitate travel away from the physical realm. Medical science has determined that meditation is one state that facilitates the production of DMT in the system. Therefore, learning appropriate and successful meditation techniques is key to the release of the wonderful compound.

Through the ages, many techniques have been used to induce the reality shift necessary (although maybe unknowingly) to release DMT. Drumming, shaking of a rattle, meditation, “chewing the thumb”, and dance, to name just a few.

Learning and practicing any form of meditation is the easiest way to learn to “travel the worlds”. During this state, one can see things more clearly, assist in the natural healing process, and experience a wide range of seemingly impossible things.

The Shaman in YOU

While it is true that practice makes perfect, every individual is their OWN shaman. As a shaman, I assist other individuals in learning to heal themselves through alternate healing modalities like Reiki , and the deep meditation or journeying that is necessary to promote general well being and a balanced and happy life. Utilizing the shamanic trance, every individual CAN heal themselves.

True, individuals who have the “call” to be a shaman, can also utilize this to assist others, yet, this does not change the fact that one can heal oneself.

We know from many sources that the body and the mind can heal itself, this is one process that can assist you in doing it.

How to create a Shamanic Trance State in Me?

SO, what does one do next?

1. Learn to meditate

2. Practice meditation OFTEN, alone and with others

3. TRAIN yourself through REPETITION to release DMT through drumming, dancing, or any other method that allows you to travel beyond the physical reality.

4. Write down your experiences, share them with others of like mind.

5. Relax, whatever you see, is what you see, NO ONE can tell you what is right or wrong, after all it is your mind.

6. Finally, have FUN, enjoy, you are a unique and wonderful part of the Universal Consciousness.

Meditation and Sweat Lodge as Affirmative Prayer

Meditation and Sweat Lodge as Affirmative Prayer

Over the years I have been honored to facilitate many ceremonies in many different paths. Often, I am asked questions by true seekers and participants in these ceremonies for my reasons, and from “where” these ceremonies come. I welcome them, because I too have asked the same questions of myself in meditation and sweat lodge as affirmative prayer, and self-healing.

Since the early 90′s I have been practicing these and other techniques that can be traced in this country back to the indigenous peoples. I have also learned the eastern techniques as taught by the Yogi’s and Swami’s in India and Metaphysicians of Hatha, Bhakti, Karma, Jnana, Raja and Kriya Yoga. Finally these same techniques are present in Christianity (as prayer) , Kabbalistic Judaism, and other “non mainstream “ spiritual practices.

Ceremony

According to Dictionary.com it is defined as: A formal act or set of acts performed as prescribed by ritual or custom. This definition includes any process that an individual or group of individuals utilizes for any purpose. In other words, much what an individual does to “connect” with their higher power, Goddess, God, Sky Father, Sky Mother, Great Mother or their own inner God Consciousness is considered ceremony.

Spirituality

The best definition of spirituality I have found is from Living Words of Wisdom, and states: that which relates to or affects the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things. Spirituality touches that part of you that is not dependent on material things or physical comforts. Notice the critical part: affects the human spirit as opposed to the material. So spirituality can be the motive force behind ceremony. Notice also that there is no particular singularly defined process; it is what YOU desire and feel for yourself.

So, combining Ceremony and Spirituality we come to a new definition of “ceremony”: A formal act or set of acts that is done by oneself or a group of people for the purpose of affecting the human spirit.

Meditation

According to Dictionary.com meditation is defined as: A devotional exercise of or leading to contemplation. Metaphysics adds to this definition and says that deep meditation is a vehicle to connect with “ real contact with our Inner True Selfhood ”, one of the courses that I teach Meditation Dynamics ©, utilizes many techniques to achieve deep meditational consciousness, some of which can be classified by our definition, as spiritual ceremony. Its purpose is achieve God /Goddess/Universal Consciousness by becoming ONE with it and to feel and be able to practice unconditional or agape love, sometimes called oneness.

Sweat Lodge

Most individuals of western culture today recognize that the sweat lodge is a wonderful ceremony that helps individuals to connect and honor the spiritual process of creation, and to connect and honor ones ancestors, teachers, and progenitors. We utilize this to connect with the spirits that want to speak with us by entering a deep meditation trance that is physiologically caused by the release of naturally occurring self-induced from their own body of DMT. Spiritually it allows one to “cross the veil”, and to hear and possibly see messages that our inner consciousness and other positive messengers seek to send. In a metaphysical sense, it allows one to be one with our God (dess) /Christ/Goddess/Buddha/ Consciousness.

Conclusion ~ Affirmative Prayer

Affirmative prayer is different than petitional prayer. In an affirmative prayer we accept and confirm that that which we are “praying” is already accomplished. In some Christian circles this is not an acceptable prayer to “receive” a desire. It is used as a “thanks offering” after what one has asked for has been “granted” by God. In our article we have explored a different viewpoint.

Historically the Jewish people have utilized affirmative prayer since the earliest time of their spiritual ceremony. During the Day of Atonement (Yom Kipper) , each of the many prayers during the 24 hr fast starts with THANK YOU GOD FOR GRANTING THIS PETITION. Notice that this is the beginning of the prayer, not after a time, when the congregants have seen the physical manifestation of the request.

This is in line with the New Testament as well when Jesus tells the disciples that they “will do greater things than I” (John 14:12) . If you believe in the father – this I choose as many others do, to accept metaphorically as one who is connected to the God Consciousness within. In new age philosophy it is called manifestation of desires.

Metaphysically, if we are all part of the universal consciousness, then we direct to and send from us what we desire all the time. We call this your vibrational spirit frequency. When one thinks of a magnet one says opposites attract. In spiritual matters, it is like attracts like. If one feels inadequate, lost, alienated from society and spirit, then that is what others will affirm for you. If you radiate selfishness then you will receive selfish responses from others. If you radiate Love of Self, then others will love you as well.

If we take these same concepts and apply them to the spiritual realm, we can see disaster in the making. If one loathes oneself, will not one attract negative loathsome contact from the spiritual realms? If one loves oneself and seeks to honestly love all of creation, does not creation love you back equally? In metaphysical terms our vibrational energy as part of the universal consciousness attracts other parts of the universal consciousness that are like US!

Each ceremony we have discussed in this article shows that there are many names for the same set of practices. Each has the “stamp” of the particular people that are part of the group. No group has any more direct line to the One/God/Great Father/Great Mother/Sky Father/sky Mother/ Universal Consciousness than any other. After all, are we not all part of the creation?

Each of these spiritual ceremonies is a gateway to finding the strength to be part of the solution for ourselves and all of creation.

However you define your own quest and finding of your spiritual path, utilize and be open to feel the “rightness” for you while knowing that your way is just that, YOUR WAY. No individual wants someone else to tell him or her that they are not following the ‘true’ path. What is TRUTH? Hmm.. another day perhaps.

For now, let us all agree that each of us is adult enough to choose our walk. SO WALK IT! Do the ceremonies that you are led to be a participant or facilitator. LEARN, how best to HONOR the Ceremony and with which you are seeking contact. Show RESPECT for yourself, the Universal Consciousness, and all of creation.

Take personal responsibility for your actions and your life. BE what your SAY you are, and hold to your interpretation of your life as LONG AS IT HONORS, RESPECTS, and BLESSES THE CREATOR/IX and ALL of creation.

Bright Blessing,

Alfred.

An Easy Meditation Technique

An Easy Meditation Technique

In order to learn any “Meditation Technique”, let us first define the term. According to Wikipedia, Meditation is a mental discipline by which one attempts to get beyond the reflexive, “thinking” mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness. Meditation often involves turning attention to a single point of reference… that may emphasize different goals — from achievement of a higher state of consciousness, to greater focus, creativity or self-awareness, or simply a more relaxed and peaceful frame of mind. Giving this sense of relaxation and peace, meditation ultimately leads people to find peace within themselves.

The word ‘discipline’ can be unsettling if not downright scary to individuals who are just beginning to choose to utilize this great tool. Not to worry. This is not the military or school. Discipline in this usage is a “practice” or ‘thing that one does with purpose.

The Practice of Meditation

Individuals in all parts of the globe have utilized this practice. It is beneficial for individuals of at any level of their spiritual or religious life. It is a great technique for relaxation, and general health. Like anything that one desires to do, it takes concentration and persistence to get the maximum benefit. This being said, individuals who begin with the greatest intentions can become frustrated, angry, and hurt, as they do not seem to be “doing it right.

Not to worry, this technique is easy, and EVERYONE can see positive results. Just be patient. Do not expect to receive incredible visuals right away.

Many individuals, with practice, do receive visuals and can “journey” to different places while meditating. One such example, though fiction is Gerald Gardner’s book, A Goddess Arrives. The protagonist in this book uses a small bronze snail to “trigger” himself into an altered state of consciousness, albeit, inadvertently.

Many individuals, pagan and non pagan alike, utilize special devices to assist them in reaching a meditative state. Drums, bells, rattles, chants, and dance are just a few of the techniques individuals use to reach a meditative state.

In some groups, dancing, scourging, and singing are a regular part of rituals in order to assist the High Priestess and High Priest reach the necessary meditative state to help facilitate the actual magical working they are gathering to accomplish.

This article does NOT require any special techniques… just you, some quiet, and the intention to meditate.

There are many sites where you can obtain help with meditation. One such site is The Meditation Handbook by Christopher Calder Another great site for Buddhist meditation is: How to Meditate (see links at the end of this article)

Expectations and Actuality

Your expectations are where everything begins and ends. If you expect to be very successful immediately, and you are not, then see above. So, the first instruction is to set realistic goals.

While some individuals may feel tremendous results when they first start meditating, others are disappointed. It is all up to you. If you have great difficulty concentrating, staying focused, or generally staying on task, then in the beginning you will experience all these same things when starting a meditation practice.

So, be real. “Baby steps” is the answer. Set realistic goals. Five minutes of good silence in your head is great progress for a beginner. If you are the type of person who has the ability to concentrate on one task — even if the house is on fire — then set a goal at fifteen minutes of sitting still or longer if you feel you can realistically perform this action.

One Easy Technique

OK, so now that you have read some information on meditation, here is the technique that I use with my clients and myself.

1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

2. Turn off your cell phone.

3. Wear comfortable clothing.

4. Play some soft NON-vocal music or nature sounds.

5. Close your eyes.

6. Look at the after image behind your eyelids.

7. Take and hold a big breath.

1. Place all your thoughts, anxieties, stress, into this breath while holding it in.

8. Release the breath.

9. Take and hold another big breath while visualizing a clear or white light coming in with the breath. This is a POSITIVE calming energy.

10. Release this breath.

11. Take and hold a third breath while visualizing a pure white or gold light coming in at the same time.

12. Place your being-ness into this energy.

13. Imagine this energy going throughout your entire body.

14. Send this energy out with your consciousness through your crown and out of your body.

15. Exhale and breathe normally.

16. Send your consciousness out to space.

17. Notice the house below you, then the entire area.

18. Continue extending your consciousness into the sky until you can visualize the curvature of the earth.

19. Picture yourself arching your back and looking up.

20. See a spiral of light with a black circle in the center.

21. Extend yourself into the center black circle – remember you are perfectly safe.

22. As you enter the center of the spiral, it is warm and inviting.

23. As you extend into the center of the spiral, it becomes a roller coaster type movement, going down and to the left.

24. Spiraling lower and lower at a safe speed.

25. After a time, notice a light at the end of the tunnel.

26. You get closer and closer to it.

27. Soon, you realize it is an opening or door.

28. You stop at the door. The doorway has a gold frame. Notice the details.

29. Look out onto a peaceful meadow, see the flowers, and smell the grass, trees, and ground.

30. Step out to the meadow, sit down and feel the sunshine on your body.

31. After a time, you get up, stretch, and feel refreshed.

32. Notice that there is a Silver Door in the distance.

33. Walk toward it. When you get there, look back and know that you can return here at any time.

34. Step through the door, and find yourself back in your own body.

Some final thoughts:

This technique is very effective, do this for several days and weeks. After a while, you will find that you can stay in the meadow longer and longer. It serves as a good beginning technique that will serve you well in all your endeavors.

Good Journeying

Reiki FAQ to study Reiki

Reiki FAQ to study Reiki

This is a compendium of questions that have been asked by me after a student of Reiki from another lineage comes to me. I have found them thought provoking and very useful!

What exactly will I receive from you?

This is the process of having a second Reiki Master work with you to give you an reiju (blessing) and facilitate your growth in the way of life that is Reiki.

Is this a totally new attunement and if so, does it ‘undo’ or override the previous attunement or just add a new frequency to the energy? (If I already have a master symbol why is reattunement necessary?)

I am offering my “reiju” which means blessing on your work. It involves teaching you the differences between what you learned and what I teach. These are pretty extensive.

1. Learn a new way to “meditate” on the precepts morning and evening.
2. Learn the three levels within each of the three big levels and demonstrate them
3. Work with advanced healing techniques
4. create your own reiki manuals, do student teaching.
5. Learn the postures that are related to Reiki and reiju.

Does my ‘master’ symbol change then or do I have use of both?

As symbols are “less” important than the transfer of energy you can do as you choose.

What specific techniques could I be taught that are not in the Western school?

Frankly all we learned were the attunements, symbols, distance healing, and ethical practices and how to organize and run a reiki circle. Did not learn the scanning that you did to detect symbols or the meditation use that you mentioned.

1. techniques of meditation
2. advanced practices
3. the difference between reiju and attunement. (Frankly it is immense  As an example  every time one of my students sees me they ask for reiju. This is given freely from master to student as a sign of respect and enhancing ones own reiki practice.

4. Note: the ‘scanning as you call it is part of being a long time reiki master in relationship with the REIKI. One develops this over time as the relationship between you and the REIKI continue to grow.

Also—wondering why the skin to skin on attunements and treatments?? We were told that reiki was powerful and clothes were not an impediment—and I have found this to be true. Since reiki can be sent long distances it seems strange that clothing could be a problem. I’m not bothered by skin to skin as much as I am wondering the thinking behind it—and it seems if doing treatments on patients it may be more comfortable for some to not have skin on skin contact. So is this a ‘pagan’ preference of yours or is there a ‘scientific’ reason?

1. The only reiju I do skin (hands on heart) otherwise than touching of hands, and                    head are skin to skin anyway – why the difference?
2. Reiki IS science – can a surgeon do surgery through your clothes? Does the doctor set your arm – through your clothes?
3. As to clothes not being an impediment I invite you to try both and determine for yourself. NATURAL FIBERS ARE little restricting clothing have little difference than skin to skin contact. Synthetics DO make Reiki less effective. It takes longer to accomplish the same thing when going through synthetic clothing.
4. It is NOT preference – In the revived craft – this is the argument between Gardnarians and Ecclectics, and Alexandirans as well. It is the Western Christian teachings that actually make this a problem. It is a sign of trust between master and student as well. After all, if I have been inside you energetically what is the difference anyway? Lol

Are the attunements done the same in Western and Eastern? Of course—maybe there is no set standard in western due to the different variety of teachers?

THERE ARE NO ATTUNEMENTS in Eastern Tradition. ONLY REIJU which we discussed earlier. This was added by takata to make it palatable to Americans and while I teach you the “attunement process” what I utilize with you is the reiju process and the openning up process.

I was researching online and it sounded like the Eastern lineages had 7 levels of learning compared to the Western with 3 levels. If I am remastered to Eastern—what level does that make me in Eastern? And would there be more levels and knowledge above the remastering??

The 4 “LEVELS” for us are Shoden, Chuuden, Okuden, Shinpiden and Shihan
Each of the four levels are cumulative. By this I mean that just because you finish level doesn’t mean its over – one continues the practices level to level. The only difference from Shinpiden to shihan is the TEACHING of Reiki while continuing to work on yourself as REIKI is a way of life – NOT a profession.

Why do most of the people that I found online that say they have both lineages mainly teach the Western lineage? Do you teach both or just Eastern yourself?? Does it depend on the student and their goals??

I can not speak for another in my conversations with other Reiki masters it seems that the reason most teach only western is that most Americans can’t hack the eastern program and are looking for the easy way out. Certifications, and the words” NOW I am a Reiki Master) while NOT living the lifestyle, utilizing it every day is typically american. Also, most teachers do not teach the advanced modalities because of the litignious nature of our society.

I combine both eastern and western so that those who complete the program with me can function in America and still be true to the way Usui Sensi intended ti to be utilized. Just to let you know my process.

1. Reiki 1 – 6 hrs class followed by 21 days of working the “program”
2. Reiki II – 6 hr class INCLUDING demonstration of ALL reiki 1 things followed by MINIMUM 21 days of practicing on others, self, and depening the understanding of the symbols and the energy
3. Reiki III – FIVE 3 hr courses over FIVE weeks including ALL of Reiki 1 and II as well as advanced techniques, teaching, manual creation, reiju ;learning, and several other things related to a growing relationship with REIKI.

I hope this helps.

To Lineage or Not to Lineage, Reiki Style

To Lineage or Not to Lineage, Reiki Style

Over the years I have felt that Reiki lineage is unimportant. As a matter of fact, for a very long time I deliberately did not give my Reiki Lineage as a “protest” against what I perceived as a bogus, unimportant, and truly artificial way for some practitioners to “glorify” themselves. The main reason for this was that human nature being what it is – a small number of practitioners seem to view issues of Reiki lineage as really being issues of prestige.

Reiki here in the west is an ability conferred via initiation, each practitioner should (theoretically at least) be able to trace their lineage back from teaching master to teaching master – right back to Usui-Sensei. In fact, the variations of the Reiki Master Symbol was the way that lineage was originally shown. There was no reason for a student/master to “show” their entire lineage, any competent Reiki Master could see which line a particular individual was from just by seeing the Master Symbol they used. In today’s information age with the easily obtainable copies of the variations it has become common practice for Reiki Master teachers to show their students at least some of the variations that they themselves know as well as the one they particularly utilize.

I am speaking here from the Western Perspective, and as I have experience with the “Japanese style” as well as the ‘Western Style”, I carry two lineages.

In Usui Shiki Ryoho and also in some of the more recently evolved Reiki styles, considerable emphasis is placed on awareness of ones lineage and each student is provided with lineage details as a matter of course. This actually contributes to the problem.

Lineage in itself, is of no importance. I still proscribe to the practice of offering a mini-treatment to a questioner of lineage, and if they feel a difference, or the energy, that SHOULD be lineage enough. However, in our Western specialist driven society, I feel that the lineage question should be addressed.

In the Craft of the Wise, which I am also involved in, lineage is VERY important. However, in recent discussions with the elders of my tradition, it seems that recently the “vouching” for a particular teacher is most importantly determined by other means than “seeing” lineage. Hence, why I always instructed students to “show” their lineage by the PRACTICE of Reiki.

As I reassess my opinions I have determined that for myself and my students there are at least two reasons why some disclosure is important. I do not show lineage to anyone who has not completed and actually begun Reiki III.

The first reason is that like any other Eastern Spirituality or practice, elders and teachers are respected. So, it is a matter of Respect. The acknowledgement of lineage is a way of honoring and respecting their elders.

My second reason is that with all the flavors of Reiki in existence (and with further new variations still evolving) the more aware a practitioner is of their own specific lineage in the ‘Reiki Family’, the more they can come to understand the various influencing factors which have shaped the teachings they themselves have received.

True, this second reason is actually part of the teaching of the style of Reiki however, it is at least a justifiable reason none the less.

Just some thoughts,

Alfred

Alternative Medicine and Healing Modalities Explained

Alternative Medicine and Healing Modalities Explained
According to Wikipedia alternative medicine is defined in the modern western world as, a practice that encompasses any healing practice “that does not fall within the realm of conventional medicine.Notice that this is extremely jingoisitc. The definition automatically implies that “alternative” is not ”conventional”.

Conventional, is defined as what is accepted – by whom? Who decides what is conventional and what is alternative? In China palm reading, herbs, phrenology, and meditation, are conventional and the west defines it as “alternative”. It is my contention that this is an arbitrary term that has grown to be accepted by the west as truth. This article discusses many types of medicine and healing that are useful and beneficial and are not part of the accepted medical community.

Let us examine the definition of conventional medicine According to dictionary.com conventional medicine is Medicine as practiced by holders of M.D. (medical doctor) or D.O. (doctor of osteopathy) degrees and by their allied health professionals, such as physical therapists, psychologists, and registered nurses. Other terms for conventional medicine include allopathy and allopathic medicine; Western medicine, mainstream medicine, orthodox
medicine, and regular medicine;and biomedicine.

So, from this definition we see that a treatment is alternative, dare I say, UN-conventional, if it is not practiced by an individual who fits the above definition. Therefore, it is subjective, and changing. To illustrate this point not to far in the past an Osteopathic doctor, or chiropractor, were considered alternative, or un-conventional.

Some examples of Alternative Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) includes herbs, massage, acupuncture, and dietary therapy. These practices are considered conventional in the eastern world. Acupuncture, which has a moderate following, even in the west it is considered by the World Health Organization to be :

…showing efficacy of acupuncture in adult postoperative and chemotherapy nausea and vomiting and in postoperative dental pain. There are other situations such as addiction, stroke rehabilitation, headache, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, osteoarthritis, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and asthma,in which acupuncture may be useful as an adjunct treatment or an acceptable alternative or be included in a comprehensive management program.

Homeopathy is based on the belief that a person can be healed by ingesting a substance that produces the same symptoms in a healthy person using a process called serial dilution. Practitioners also alternate between this and psychological treatment to assist the patient.

Yoga One of the goals of yoga is to improve health. This is accomplished by a combination of breathing and physical body positions. It is also based upon the Chakra system which is not discussed here.

Reiki

This energy healing system that was brought to the Japanese world by Mikao Usui in the late 19th century. This system has gone through many permutations and has changed significantly in the last 100 years. Originally, it was a self-healing technique that had its roots in the Japanese shamanic and martial arts traditions. In fact, the japanese art of Akido, can trace some of its elements to the practice of Reiki.
It was brought to the west by Hawayo Takata who is considered by some western practitioners as the last ”Grand master”

Shamanic Practices

All cultures have an indigenous Shamanic component. These individuals are/were considered the doctor and priest of the community. In the west, we have replaced our shamans with psychologists, physicians, and priests. This is indicative of the specialization process western society has gone though over the last two to three hundred years. All of them share the idea that an individual must be treated (w)holistically in order to achieve healing. If we strip away the modern terms, then those individuals who practice a (w)holistic approach to helping others, are indeed shamans.

Similar to Reiki discussed above, Celtic Transformational Healing a system that I developed in 2006 based on the Cauldron of Posey by Amergin. This system helps individuals to “correct” the status of the three cauldrons in the body of every individual.

Drumming and Sound

We know that Music soothes us somehow. We tap our feet, dance, spin, or other expression that brings a smile to our faces. Mongolian bowls, and chimes are also used for bringing about the proper vibrational health within our bodies. Drumming has been used by cultures from all over the globe for healing. Drum energy and the physical & emotional health of a person are connected. In meditation, we use the beat of the person’s own heart to facilitate the light trance state that is necessary to achieve the stated objective.
Many practitioners use the energy of drumming to help us make the changes we need in our body, mind and soul. Even in the scientific community, studies have begun to acknowledge the power of vibrational energy and the Healing Drum to transform and relieve physical and emotional maladies. Therefore, we may find that soon, the healing drum will become “conventional” instead of alternative.

Being (W)hole

As these practices approach different aspects of a person, so to being a (w)hole person means to approach and pay attention to many aspects of oneself. As we develop this site, we will add more information on how one can be healthy, happy, and lead productive, satisfactory lives.

Chakra Breathing Technique

Chakra Breathing Technique

This form of Yoga Breathing can be practiced by any individual. It is good for general good health, balance and to generate more peace within oneself. I received this from
a dear friend who reminded me that we were both taught this method many years ago. I share it here with all of you my dear readers and visitors.
Introduction
As humans we tend to loose energy focusing on the material world. As we are consumed by our mundane lives our energy starts moving down and out in an inappropriate manner. At this point as our energy gets drained we become tired, and sometimes depressed. People try many things to increase their energy including more sensory pleasures. This in and of itself does not work. However, if our energy is moving up then we are energized. In fact even sensual pleasure is improved if our energy is moving up instead of down. ( YOU know what I mean!!) This technique uses chakra breathing, attuning with sound, and color visualization to move our energy up to our source, through the physical, mental, and spiritual bodies, to the silver thread connected to the central sun and the universal consciousness that nourishes us and energizes our entire being. As we practice this method the entire physical, mental, and spiritual body starts waking up. The reason for this is the energy then starts to flow well to all our cells and rejuvenates us. For those who are feeling old it is almost like a “Fountain of Youth”. Like other forms of Yoga, after this exercise even our physical breathing follows the energy that naturally flows from the silver thread connecting us to the Universal Consciousness within and without each of us.
The Method
1st Chakra – Base – red – Earth – (mountains) – intone LAM LAM LAM
2nd Chakra – navel – orange – Water – (ocean waves, water falls) – VAM VAM VAM
3rd Chakra – Solar Plexus – yellow – (Fire ) – RAM RAM RAM
4th Chakra – Heart – green – Air – ( breezes, wind) – YAM YAM YAM
5th Chakra – Throat – lt blue – (Sky Universe) – HAM HAM HAM
6th Chakra – Third Eye – blue – OM OM OM
7th Chakra – Crown – pink – awareness
At this point one feels the Universal Consciousness without lifting us to connect with the Universal Consciousness without. Now, relax totally, our breathing now moves in a circle giving to the universe and receiving from the universe. One feels they are naturally powering up, feeling the fresh life force coming into our physical body as light that illuminates us as we return it to the Universe. The more one does this exercise, the more positive energy, (light) one stores and can share. We also begin to be more balanced, hence less prone todis-ease.
Enjoy!!
